Day 8 was GREAT!

MILES:  Completed:  182.08   Remaining: 17.2!!
FUNDRAISING: $2342 of $5000.  Thanks to everyone who donated today!

I had a super day today, but I'm only going to give you a quick overview right now because it's 8:30 and I need to get my rest for the final push tomorrow.  Tomorrow I'll add the pictures from yesterday and today along with the great finish photos we'll get.

I had so much support today, it was really heartwarming!

The first 11 miles, I was accompanied by a friend since junior high, Debra H. B., and my father-in-law Jack on bike (nice, I get to travel light) and mother-in-law Kathy providing road support.  We were met in route by my parents and their neighbor Henry, who's a WWII vet.  Nice to see them!

At this point we determine I had only ONE marathon left!
The 2nd part I was again accompanied by Jack with road support from both Kathy AND my husband John.  Shortly after the start, we encountered my friends Sheri T, Renee J and Josh K + childies.  That was nice, and Sheri and Renee biked with me up to Right Fit Running.  Along the way, friend Amy S dropped in to say hi!  We got up to Right Fit Running for the party.  My friend Dave O, my Dad, Jack, Kathy, John, Sheri, Renee and Carol (who ran with me yesterday) couldn't make it but her husband Lloyd dropped by.  What a nice showing.  Store owners Michael and Therese and a nice spread with chilled Ultima and home-made granola and yogurt.  It was delish.  We chatted, watched some running videos, rested and snacked for a while.  Then everyone disperesed and Jack and I headed off for the final 6 miles of the day.

It was getting pretty warm out and my pace slowed quite a bit.  It was nice to get that done.

Intake today: english muffin w/pb & honey, chocolate chip cookie, turkey-bacon-avacado sub, 1/2 of a peanut butter snickers (THANKS DEB!), tea, Ultima, granola, yogurt, medium root beer float, mac-n-cheese with tuna and a TON of water.
