It STARTED OUT on target. I got up at 6:30, ate and was out the door by 7. The weather had moved out of the area, so it looked good. I drove out and started running.
INTO the wind. It was a REALLY strong wind. I sucked it up for 5 miles and then decided it was stupid. I called John (woke him up) and asked if it would be cheating to have him move me to the end point and I could run back to where I was because the wind was SO bad. He said yes, that's cheating. So I ran for anouther 2 miles, and decided I didn't care. He was already on the way. So, he picked me up at 7.1 and I decided to take advantage of the now-tailwind and avoid the coming heat, so he drove me to 15. Actually, 15ish. The tires on the truck are not the correct size, so the odometer is slightly off. BUT we always forget which way. So he drove me to 15.3. Turns out it's the other way, so I ended up doing 15.8. Which brings the total to....67.2. So I'm 1.2 miles ahead of schedule right now...I'll take it.
I'm feeling really good. I've iced my legs and used my roller, and those seem to be helping to keep the legs fresh. Tomorrow looks like a nice stong west wind, so no more cheating (at least not tomorrow). I still don't think it's cheating, I've covered every step of the ground, just 15.8 miles backwards...maybe if I'd faced backwards while doing it...
Intake today: blueberry bagel, 2 cliff shots, 1 jelly life savers, some jojos (don't ask), the smaller gatorade, a medium marshmallow/butterscotch malt, and a "picnic buffet"...a brat, some baked beans, watermellon, some creamy cukes, a baked potato that I put dill dip from the veggie tray on, 3 onion rings, a handful of olives and a pickle. I bought combos, a peanut butter cup and more gatorade, but who knows, I'm pretty tired and it IS almost 6:30. Geeesh.
Crew changed out today...now Jack and Kathy (John's parents are on board) and their vehicle has been properly decorated...
GPS info:
First 7.1 Ignore from 7.1 on, I forgot to shut it off so it clocked the car ride. Darn it!
